Lectric eBike Battery Replacement

Lectric sells direct with no dealer network, so there is no local Lectric store to walk into. The pack comes from the manufacturer — but working out which one you need, and getting it fitted and tested, is a local job. Here are the published specs for 24 models, and shops that can do the rest.

Lectric publishes capacity for these packs in a form that needs interpretation — most often bare amps ("48V 16A") where amp-hours are meant. We have read it the only way that makes sense for a battery, but confirm against the label on your own pack before ordering.

Lectric does not publish connector types. That is the field that most often decides whether a pack physically fits, so photograph your own connector and compare it before you buy — see below.

Before you order

Will this pack fit my bike?

Model names are not enough on their own — Lectric, like most brands in this segment, changes pack hardware between production runs of the same model name. Four things have to match, and you can check all of them in about five minutes with the bike in front of you.

    Voltage — the one that must match exactly

    Read it off the label on your existing pack, not off a spec sheet for your model. Lectric packs in our data are 48V. A voltage mismatch is not a fitment problem, it is a fire risk.

    The connector on the pack

    Photograph the port on the back of the pack and the matching one on the frame, then compare against the listing photos. Count the pins. This is the field manufacturers publish least and get asked about most.

    The mount and rail

    A pack of the right voltage can still be the wrong physical shape. Measure the length of the pack and the rail it slides onto, and check whether the lock is on the pack or on the base.

    Your charger

    If you change capacity, keep the charger matched to the pack voltage. Using a mismatched charger is one of the most common causes of pack failure, and it is entirely avoidable.

Buy certified, not cheapest

Some Lectric packs are certified to UL standards — the table above links the listing for each. Marketplace packs advertised as compatible are where battery fires concentrate: uncertified cells, no battery-management board worth the name, and no recourse when one fails. If you buy anywhere other than the manufacturer, buy to UL 2271 (pack) or UL 2849 (whole bike).

We do not link third-party "compatible" packs, and we will not recommend one.

Handling rules that apply to every pack

  • Stop charging immediately if a pack is swollen, dented, hot to the touch, or smells sharp and chemical.
  • Use the charger that came with the bike. Voltage-mismatched generic chargers are a leading cause of pack failure.
  • Buy replacement packs certified to UL 2271 (battery) or UL 2849 (whole bike) — New York City requires it and other jurisdictions have followed.
  • Charge on a hard surface, away from exits, and not overnight while you are asleep.
  • Never bin a damaged pack or leave it in a closed car — take it to a shop or a hazardous-waste drop-off.

What battery does a Lectric eBike use?

Lectric packs in our data run 48V, with capacities from 7.8Ah to 20Ah, priced $255–$595 direct from the manufacturer. Capacity varies by model and often by model year, so check the label on your own pack before ordering rather than going by the model name alone. Every figure on this page is taken from Lectric's own product listings and was last checked on August 12, 2026.

How much is a replacement Lectric battery?

$255–$595 direct from Lectric, based on their current listed prices for the 26 pack configurations we track. Budget separately for fitting and a capacity test if you want a shop to confirm the old pack is genuinely the fault — that is typically $40 to $90 and is worth it before spending several hundred dollars on a battery you may not need.

Will a generic battery fit my Lectric?

Only if the voltage, the physical mount and the connector all match — and the connector is the one manufacturers publish least often. Voltage is the non-negotiable one: fitting a 48V pack to a 36V controller, or charging either with the wrong charger, is a leading cause of pack failure and fire. Beyond fit, buy packs certified to UL 2271 or the whole bike to UL 2849. Uncertified marketplace packs are where battery fires concentrate, and no saving justifies that risk.

Where can I get a Lectric battery fitted near me?

Any competent bike shop can fit and test a pack, and you do not need a Lectric dealer — Lectric does not have a dealer network. Call ahead and ask two things: can you capacity-test my existing pack, and can you fit a replacement I order myself. We list shops across 3,134 US cities, with ratings, hours and phone numbers.

I lost the key to my Lectric battery. What now?

Every bike is keyed uniquely and there is no published code system to order against. Lectric’s own help documentation says that if both keys are lost, a locksmith needs to fit keys to the locking mechanism. A locksmith can usually fit a key to the existing cylinder without removing the pack, which is cheaper than replacing the lock.
