Nevada defines electric bicycles in NRS chapter 484B — two or three wheels, working pedals, a seat and a motor of no more than 750 watts meeting one of the three classes — and gives them the rights and duties of bicycles. No license, registration or insurance is required. State law sets no helmet requirement at any age and no statewide minimum riding age, so the rules that bite are local: Clark County, the City of Las Vegas, Henderson and Boulder City all require helmets for minors. Class 3 eBikes must have a speedometer. Around Lake Tahoe and on federal land, the managing agency's eBike policy governs trail access.
