Washington eBike Laws (2026)

Washington State has adopted the 3-class eBike system. Class 1 and 2 eBikes are permitted on bike paths, rail-trails, and most multi-use recreational paths. Class 3 eBikes are restricted to roads and paved bike facilities. Helmets are required for riders under 17, and helmets are required for all eBike riders on certain trail systems.
